All our Rag Dolls can be spot cleaned or hand washed. To prevent doll hair damage, etc, cold hand wash in mild wool wash, do not spin dry. Soft toy oddities can be machine washed, cold water only, gentle cycle, inside delicates bag, using mild wool wash or see below for sugg. For all items: COLD WATER ONLY. NO fabric softener. Do not place in dryer or wring. Regular, old fashioned, 'air drying' only. At Perfectly Imperfect Dolls HQ we use our own homemade Laundry Powder. But when we do use a commercial product, we use Sal Suds biodegradable gentle multipurpose cleaner by Dr Bronner's Once washed, hang on clothesline inside a delicates bag, and / or lay item out flat at a safe distance from your household heating source
Custom orders are welcomed, however the extent to which our rag dolls and soft toys can be customised is limited, for example we prefer to not attempt to make versions of published characters, from any medium. You can however refer to a character for examples or inspiration assistance! Just ask us if your custom order request is something we can do! We will get back to you in under 24hrs. All rag dolls and soft toys made by Perfectly Imperfect Dolls remains the intellectual property of Perfectly Imperfect Dolls and may not be reproduced by anyone other than Perfectly Imperfect Dolls.
A standard, or 'hardly ordinary' doll or dude will usually be finished, complete with their 2 outfits, within a day. Custom orders often take longer, depending on requirements. If you have a specific time constraint, drop me a line, as chances are i will be able to work something out. (Melbourne's covid-19 restriction related issues not withstanding!)
We keep degummed hemp fibre, organic cotton and organic wool on hand for stuffing. These were painstakingly selected after much indepth research for many reasons, key focus being entirely natural, and able to confirm without doubt they're absolutely GMO free. Unlike many of the corn based stuffings that are starting to become popular. We use organic wool as our main stuffing because unlike the other two, it is entirely local and an otherwise wasted, natural byproduct of the living existence of domesticated 'Australian' sheep. Our wool is direct from Hollyburton, an organic farm here in Victoria. They practice humane shearing techniques, hold verifiable organic certification and are open and transparent about their animal care and welfare.
When not under coivd-19 restrictions yes. Absolutely! We regularly have a stall at various makers/craft markets around Victoria, see our website for our scheduled upcoming market dates! You can also find a small selection of our dolls at both Headlines Hair Salon in Dromana. However our dolls tend to find their forever homes quickly at the salon, so if they appear to have none in stock, just ask when they are expecting more, as we regularly monitor and restock them. Alternatively, feel free to contact us to discuss other, in person, viewing and purchase options (Serious buyers only please).
Generally, all our rag dolls and soft toys are wrapped in brown craft paper and bakers or hemp twine before being placed into a reused or recycled cardboard shipping box. Whenever possible we try and reuse old cardboard boxs instead of purchasing new recycled cardboard ones. These are only used if they are in a clean undamaged condition and are sourced from both myself and various local businesses. We are happy to include a hand written gift message in the box for the recipient if you would like one.
As you may have seen from the about section, we here at Perfectly Imperfect Dolls HQ have multiple cats who are all VERY involved in most everything we do, so even though every effort is made to store all fabrics and completed dolls in an airtight, cat proof manner, I cannot guarantee they will be free from all traces of cat hair, especially as I myself never am! Plus, being a true crazy cat lady, you can bet that if I'm in my sewing room then at least one of the catties is too! That being said, they are all short hair, low allergen varieties and it all comes off effectively and easily with a lint sticky roller, if you dont have more cat hair around you while doing it that is!
